Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) Select Endpoint Security Provider Cylance for Its Innovation and Importance to the Business

Security Current, the premier information and collaboration community by CISOs for CISOs, named Cylance the winner of its Security Shark Tank® Chicago competition. Held at Spiaggia, the event brought security solution providers face-to-face with potential buyers.

Participating vendors were given 15 minutes each to pitch their solution to the panel of information security executives interested in innovative technologies. The executives scored each vendor based on innovation and vision, ease of use and implementation, value to the industry, and the presenter’s ability to clearly and effectively articulate their value and differentiator.

GE Capital Director of Information Security Rajesh David served as the event host and moderator of the panel.

The CISO panel included:

AXA Assistance USA CSO Tellis Williams
Delta Dental Plans Association CISO Fred Kwong
Grubhub Inc. CISO Justinian Fortenberry
Motorola Mobility CISO Richard Rushing
Northern Illinois University CISO Andrew Bjerken
Paylocity CISO Bradley Schaufenbuel
TransUnion CISO Jasper Ossentjuk
TTX Company Director of Enterprise Information Security Steve Hundley
Williams Lea Director of Information Security Scott Tompkins

“The Security Shark Tank® offered a unique forum for me to engage with my peers while learning about innovative technology. It quickly allowed me to determine if the vendors would be a ‘good fit’ for my organization,” said Delta Dental Plans Association CISO Fred Kwong. “The ability to hear and engage in the rapid-fire dialogue between the security leaders and the vendors helped me understand concerns that I may not have thought of on my own.”

Security Shark Tank® winner Cylance’s solution leverages artificial intelligence to detect and prevent malware from executing on the endpoint in real time. CISOs scored Cylance highest for the company’s innovation and vision, and the importance of the business problem its solution solves.

“In an era when the idea of investing in traditional anti-virus (AV) or another endpoint solution raises eyebrows, it was very refreshing to see Cylance’s approach to next generation AV powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning,” said host and moderator Rajesh David. “It is the selection process of vendors like Cylance and the CISO Sharks that sets this event apart. Thanks to Security Current for assembling some great thinkers for an evening of idea sharing at the debut Security Shank Tank® in Chicago.”
