Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) Select User Behavior Analytics Provider Exabeam for Its Innovation and Importance to the Business

Security Current, the premier information and collaboration community by CISOs for CISOs, named Exabeam the winner of its Security Shark Tank® California competition. The event was held in San Francisco during the week of RSA Conference 2016 and brought security solutions providers face-to-face with potential CISO buyers.

Eight vendors were given 15 minutes each to pitch their innovative solutions to the panel of 25 information security executives who possess a strong interest in emerging technologies. Executives scored each vendor based on innovation and vision, ease of use and implementation, value to the industry, and the presenter’s ability to clearly and effectively articulate their value and differentiator.

Surescripts CISO Paul Calatayud served as the event host and moderator of the panel.

“Security Shark Tank® was an excellent opportunity for CISOs, providing exposure to multiple vendors in a rapid fire format. Having so many qualified CISOs participate in the event allowed for some fantastic question and answer sessions,” said ASRC Federal CISO Darren Death. “The diversity of thought leadership in the room brought by CISOs from so many industry sectors is really difficult to find in any other format. I personally was able to discover some new vendors that I am interested in continuing a conversation with because of Security Shark Tank®.”

A user behavior analytics (UBA) solution, Exabeam uses existing log data to quickly detect modern cyberattacks, prioritize security incidents and accelerate effective response.

“The Exabeam team clearly understands the market space and did a fantastic job at articulating their value and solution set,” said Barnabas Health CISO Hussein Syed. “Their Security Shark Tank® pitch touched on the product suite’s ability to integrate with many of best-of-breed tools, making deployment straightforward for many organizations.”

DocuSign CISO Vanessa Pegueros added: “The Security Shark Tank® was a great opportunity to not only hear about some new ideas from companies, but also to hear what my peers were concerned about. I appreciated the variety of companies that presented – they weren’t all focused in just one ‘hot security’ area.”
